Introducing the cast of Scrambled Pancakes
Doogle is going to be a celebrity. He doesn't know what he'll be famous for. But maybe this will be the year he'll make the big
time. A long hard struggle is ahead. Doogle isn't likely to win any awards (or complaints) for knowing too much about anything.
He's been known to give his teacher fits by confusing Thanksgiving with Groundhog Day.
Deena loves to read, smell books, and think deep thoughts. She comes from a large family and often recounts the stories
passed down to her about prior generations. She thinks the photograph that best represents humankind's development in the
20th century is the X-Ray diffraction shot that enabled Watson and Crick to conclude that DNA has a dual helical structure.
Dexter thinks of banks as religious institutions. That's why he dressed up for the class field trip to a local bank.
Like any good practitioner of moneyism, he's always alert for money making opportunities. He's not quite ready to retire after
graduation from high school though. Dexter's recession proof investment was in a company that makes going-out-of-business
signs.
Emma is in touch with her feelings but becomes alarmed very easily. Don't tell her about solar flares. She'll think the sun's
exploding.
Leo likes to fly model airplanes, but he's had some bad luck with them. He believes the Internet will evolve into a modern savior,
the Grand Foobar. He believes in the existence of a "mom force" which enables seemingly ordinary women to see through
walls, hear across crowded rooms, and infer from a child's scent just how long it's been since the last bath. Leo also has a strange
notion that he's just a comic strip character.
Lewis is Leo's mischievous half brother. He's not seen too often, perhaps due to their father's custody arrangement. That's not
all bad because he has a corrupting influence on Leo.
